Now I kinda knew it would be a contortion act doing a blind beer tasting on a wine show… especially since it was our first episode and we practically had more beer on the show than we did wine.
Analysing a wine on the fly isn’t the problem, it’s analysing with a lense staring at you, keeping it entertaining, informative and kinda concise at the same time… when you suffer from “diahorrea of the brain” like I do, a short story can suddenly become a very long one. Could be OK talking 1-on-1 but not so OK when it comes to viewing pleasure.
After viewing the footage from our first shoot, realised this was NOT how I wanted to do the show. There are definitely more than enough wine guys doing it this way, some better than others, but the task was “do it differently”. Thus when in doubt, “IMPROVISE”!!
